PBS has been a leader in providing quality programs for children for almost 40 years, including classics like Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow and many others. Most children's programs not only teach the techniques of value, such as reading and mathematics, but include some inside jokes for adults, which makes it enjoyable for everyone. Some of the newer shows are becoming classics in their own right. Some of the latest additions to the range PBS Kids, which is sure to be the future favorites.

Between the Lions, Following in the footsteps of The Electric Company, one of the Lions helps children learn to read with phonics lessons hidden hand and stupidity. This often see "Punny" focuses on a group of lions librarian and a menagerie of other puppets. Segments such as "Word Gawain" (where two "blend in" knights and make a new word, such as games), "Cliff Hanger" and "Sam Spud" parody of popular movies, give parents a chuckle while that children learn.

Jakers! The adventure of Piggly Winks, This delightful animated series of the computer is a gem. There are many episodes as Jakers! as some other shows on PBS, so that some stations do occasionally. Each episode begins with his grandfather spend time with his grandchildren Piggly Winks, telling stories of his childhood. Then the audience is treated to flashbacks of his imagination full of his adventures with his friends on a farm in Ireland. Each episode also has a segment with real-grandparents
